We've all relied on the NHS at one point in our lives.  They've cared for my Grandparents through cancers, strokes, and amputations. They've cared for my parents through everything from kidney infections to gall bladder operations, and for one of my sons during pneumonia. They were there for my husband when he suffered from Bowel Cancer.  They are always there.  It's also the sad reality that our NHS staff are also underpaid and overworked.

In these unprecedented times, the sacrifice made by our NHS staff becomes more real.  As many of us are lucky enough to stay at home and keep ourselves and our children in isolation and out of harm's way, our NHS staff (and many other key workers) are working extra hard, putting themselves and their families at risk every day.  It's easy to feel that there is nothing we can do, so I was delighted to find that NHS Charities Together are running a campaign to raise funds to support our NHS staff.

Giving back has always been core to Love Sweat + Tees and we've supported the wonderful Bowel Cancer UK for the past year - a charity close to our hearts and that we will always support on a personal level.

This year, as our entire nation comes to rely on the NHS more than ever before, we have decided to make NHS Charities Together our charity of the year.

Love Sweat + Tees will donate £5 from every full price sale to this wonderful charity.

About NHS Charities Together

In this time of crisis, we need to act quickly to help ensure that frontline NHS staff and volunteers have access to everything they need to care for themselves.  NHS Charities Together is setting up a grant scheme to show respect and gratitude to our NHS superheroes by supporting the wellbeing of NHS staff and front line workers caring for Covid-19 patients.  Donations will be distributed across 140 member charities supporting NHS staff and will be used to fund:

  • Well-being packs/gifts for staff and volunteers on wards. This could include food deliveries, high energy protein bars/drinks, snacks, refreshments, wash kits, overnight stay kits.
  • Kitting out break rooms with furniture, beds and space to take a break
  • Travel and parking costs for staff and volunteers
  • Volunteer expenses
  • Other items to support the needs and well-being of NHS staff and volunteers who are experiencing increases stress and workload due to COVID-19

This is not an exhaustive list of criteria and as the situation changes the charity will adapt to meet the evolving needs of workers.

You can support by donating directly, buying from Love Sweat and Tees (we donate £5 from every full price sale) and sharing details of the campaign on social media, using the following:
